Catherine Reed is the Early Childhood Teacher at Ngaanyatjarra Lands School Kiwirrkurra Campus. Kiwirrkurra Remote Community is the most remote community in Australia. With the support of Montessori Children’s Foundation, Montessori practices have been implemented in classroom teaching and learning practices since 2011, transforming attendance, engagement and outcomes for children. Catherine is now undertaking a Masters degree in education, focussing on the impact of the Montessori approach in early childhood in remote Indigenous communities.
